Let’s uncover one of the Hope Valley's best-kept secrets: Waterfall Swallet. Nestled deep in the heart of the Peak District, this little beauty is worth every bit of effort to find.

Imagine this: a secluded paradise where the sound of water crashing over rocks fills the air. Yep, that's Waterfall Swallet for you! This breathtaking cascade is tucked away amidst the moss-covered cliffs, offering a peaceful place to relax, surrounded by nature's finest.

Before we get started, the Peak District and Yorkshire do share some small areas, the majority of the national park sits outside the Yorkshire boundary. But, with some of the best views int’ country, it would be rude to not venture out past the Yorkshire borders and explore the delights reyt ont’ doorstep!

Directions

First things first, let's rendezvous at the Hawkhill Road Car Park in Eyam, S32 5AD.

This little village is steeped in history, famous for its brave folk who quarantined themselves during the plague to stop it spreading. Take a stroll through the village, soak up the vibes, and then let's get moving!



From the car park, head southeast along Hawkhill Road until you hit the T junction with Eyam Country Store on the corner. Take a left up Main Road and continue for around 1 mile.



After about 30 minutes of walking, you'll hear the unmistakable roar of water to your right – that's Waterfall Swallet, calling your name! Head down the dirt road until you see a little wooden gate on your left. Tek your time on the rocky path down to the waterfall, is slippy as hell!

Waterfall Swallet is more than just a pretty sight – it's a slice of Peak District paradise tucked away in the Hope Valley. So grab your boots, pack some snacks, and let's go find our own little piece of heaven. Who knows what adventures await us along the way?
